I haven’t blogged for a while but there has been lots of exciting stuff going on. For example, yesterday I was doing the Badminton Horseless Trials. Basically this involved running 5 miles of the famous horse trial course including the big horse jumps and the impressively wet water splash!
Anyway, the exciting news from the weekend is that I now have been offered a position as a ski instructor with the Whistler Blackcomb Ski and Snowboard School. From mid December therefore, if you’re an adult and you’re learning to ski from scratch on Whistler mountain, it’s possible that I will be your instructor (good luck if that happens).
I’m really excited to have got this position before arriving in Canada and see it as the fruition of my efforts in getting CSIA Level II qualified in Whistler itself.
Currently going through all of the paperwork necessary to have in place for taking up my position is taking up my time but given that my work visa is in place and that I’ve been offered a position doing what I’ve wanted to do for 2 years, I’m a happy chap at the moment. :-)
This blog will be used to chart my progress over the winter, whilst I learn how to teach (in practice rather than in theory), improve my skiing, and cope without Jennifer for more than 3 days at a time!!!
